I've just noticed that recent comments appear as normal under the posts, and I can still delete spam, but they are no longer appearing in my 'recent comments' widget.
Is it like this for anybody else?

Most recent thing in the "Recent Comments" widget for me is "Shameless Open Primary" on 17 July.
Since this morning (GMT-3) my "recent comments" widget is showing posts from 2007 ...
No, same thing happened to me this morning - my 'recent comments' are from about a year ago!
