"The 10 stupidest Islamic terrorists"

Spotted by MBK at The Telegraph.

It's a great list and everything (maybe there's a tie-on with the fact that only two people from an Islamic or even a Muslim country have ever won a Nobel Prize for Physics or Chemistry?) but he doesn't seem mention this week's Islamic heroes:

Omar Mohammed Khan, Mohammed Hasseen, Anzal Hussain, Mohammed Saud, Zohaib Ahmed and Jewel Uddin admitted preparing an act of terrorism. All six will be sentenced on 6 June.

Five of them took a homemade bomb to an EDL rally in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, last June but arrived after it ended. They were caught after their car was stopped and found to have no insurance*.

Police and security services** had no intelligence*** about the planned attack, although one of the would-be killers, Jewel Uddin, was under surveillance in relation to another terror plan.

* Top tips for criminals: keep you car insured, MOT'd and the licence up to date. It is quite surprising how many criminals get caught out during routine traffic stops.

** WTF does "security services" actually mean? I really don't like the vagueness of that expression, nor what it might signify. It does smack rather of police state.

*** Luckily for the long-suffering EDL, not only did the "police and security services" have no intelligence but the Mohammeds didn't have any either.

It's almost as if they want people to join protest groups like the EDL...

A student who admitted posting racially offensive comments on Twitter about footballer Fabrice Muamba has been jailed for 56 days.

Swansea University student Liam Stacey, 21, from Pontypridd, admitted inciting racial hatred over remarks about the Bolton Wanderers player, who collapsed during a FA Cup tie at Tottenham. A district judge in Swansea called the comments "vile and abhorrent"...

Yes, I'm sure that his Tweets were very hurtful, like millions of other Tweets posted every day which are intended to hurt someone else's feelings, and I can tell you right now that I wouldn't have agreed with them, but the words "totally", "disproportionate" and "response" spring to mind.

Unlikely Allies

From the Evening Standard:

Tower Hamlets council is threatening to take the Government to court if it refuses to ban a march by far-Right group the English Defence League. Leaders are warning of violence if the event goes ahead on September 3 and will seek a judicial review if Home Secretary Theresa May does not ban it..."

As we know, EDL marchers tend to be very well behaved on the whole, the violence comes from the Islamists and deluded lefties who attack them.

From the BBC:

Protesters have disrupted the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra's BBC Proms concert at London's Royal Albert Hall... The Palestine Solidarity Campaign had earlier called on people to boycott the concert and urged the BBC to cancel it. In a statement published on its website ahead of the Proms, the pro-Palestinian group claimed the IPO showed "complicity in whitewashing Israel's persistent violations of international law and human rights".

So it's the same lot attacking an Israeli orchestra as it is attacking the English Defence League.

Here's a thought: if the EDL are ever allowed to hold a rally, wouldn't it be fun if they invited along an Israeli orchestra to perform at the end, just to show a bit of solidarity? We can get the people from Rye Playland to do the security.

Which confirms pretty much what I thought, so thanks to everybody who took part. The idea that the BNP are any sort of political or electoral threat to the Tories (or even Labour) - and hence that if you oppose the BNP you must prefer FPTP to AV - always struck me as laughable in the extreme.
