I rather suspect any shareholders will also be partaking of some of the benefit of such forced diversity and inclusion.

Especially when the inclusive and diverse members forced onto the board don't actually know what they're doing while in that position because they're only there to tick boxes.

This combined with anybody self identifying as anything else should be fun.
Somebody will have to define and grade the diverse.
Maybe the USA with their new president are already on top of this. A mentally challenged man elected by the existentially challenged (dead). How diverse is that.

Strewth - they don't want anything to work properly.

This is another example of the government thinking that a "small business" is one that employs several hundred people and that most businesses employ several thousand.
Some years ago, after a similar initiative, regarding employee liability insurance, I was rung up by insurance company who told me I now needed to carry this insurance. Since I am my company's only director, shareholder and employee, I asked him whether holding such insurance would allow me to sue myself for a large amount of money. On getting a negative reply, I declined to take out the insurance.

"A lack of diversity of thought can lead to a lack of challenge to accepted views and ways of working, which risks compromising firms’ safety and soundness.” Ooh they've got to be careful there! Are they suggesting that men, women, and people of different ethnicities think differently? Diversity of thought from 'correct' thinking will get your firm cancelled. Try hiring J.K. Rowling after mocking people who menstruate as a replacement to women. They obviously need to read 1984 again to understand Newspeak and thoughtcrime.

OTOH. Nineteen Eighty-Four IS their workshop manual. Newspeak is what they do.

Local farmer near me, asking for protection from Ozzie trade deal(lamb)

"The trade deal with Australia recently agreed is worrying for the farming industry, in that it may lead to increased imports of lamb and beef, mainly hurting hill farmers including those in Wales and Scotland. The NFU President, Minette Batters, has spoken eloquently about the need for a fair playing ground, ie all imports must be produced to the same high animal husbandry and welfare standards by which British farmers are legally bound. In practice, little extra food is likely to come from Australia; the greater concern is that this deal will become a template for more significant trade deals to follow with the USA, Canada, Brazil and New Zealand, when British farmers may well be significantly disadvantaged if today's soothing Government assurances are found to be toothless.
