There was a great tongue in cheek comment under a video by PBS Space Time:
"Dark energy = dark matter x speed of darkness squared"
I think we can leave it at that, the 'search for dark matter' is a massive great scam, just like the search for the Loch Ness Monster.

Finding the loo at night when the electricity has gone off is a very dark matter.
I won't hear a word said against dark matter. In fact your critical remarks about dark matter amount to "hate speech". If there's no dark matter, how come stars are orbiting round the center of galaxies much faster than they should be?
JH, turn the light on.
SM, they are rotating at exactly the speed you'd expect.
Dark matter = Dark energy / speed of darkness squared
D, good point, well spotted. I will correct the post.
More to the point, Sanjay, It's not just galaxies. Why are wide binary star systems rotating around their common centre of gravity much faster than they should be? Dark matter doesn't explain that one.
