Hedge fund boss accused of keeping his ex-Merrill Lynch Trader wife 'virtual prisoner' in their £3.4million Knightsbridge home 'demanded that she arranged his green beans neatly on his dinner plate'
What on earth difference does it make how much the house is worth to the severity of the crime (to the extent that a crime was committed)?
Mitchenson allegedly beat her over head with glass...
That sounds like a crime.
... and attacked her with pillow
That doesn't.

They also call it a "£3.4million Knightsbridge mansion". It might be £3.4m, but the photos show that £3.4m doesn't buy very much in Knightsbridge.
JJ, very good point.
But he's being charged with one of these newfangled feminist offences, not and assault - "controlling of coercive bahviour in an intimate relationship"! (Click the link for the CPS guidance).
An offence is committed by A if:
A repeatedly or continuously engages in behaviour towards another person, B, that is controlling or coercive; and
At time of the behaviour, A and B are personally connected; and
The behaviour has a serious effect on B; and
A knows or ought to know that the behaviour will have a serious effect on B.
The phrase 'substantial adverse effect on Bs usual day-to-day activities' may include, but is not limited to:
Stopping or changing the way someone socialises ...
... A change in routine at home including those associated with mealtimes or household chores
The mind boggles!
...or hitting over the head with a glass
So what is wrong with wanting to have your green beans neatly placed on your plate? Only recently, I told my wife I wanted my green beans laid out on my plate in length order. Once I was discharged from A&E I admitted I may have asked too much.
"So what is wrong with wanting to have your green beans neatly placed on your plate?"
I'm not sure that was the problem.
Assault with a deadly pillow. The victim was smothered ...
