The engineering of space travel is amazing. I couldn't care less about the people in the boxes that are mostly controlled by computers on the ground. And I think manned space travel is mostly a waste of money. Good for creating news stories, but Mars rovers are more valuable (and cheaper).
I've long argued that the heroes of Apollo 13 were the guys on the ground. Lovell and his crew were pretty much passengers apart from putting a few things together that they were told to do.

Ralph,
He'll be getting in touch with one of those people on Twitter about flight delays.
Still a heck of a feat of engineering, all the astronauts do is risk their lives.

TS, agreed. The guys on the ground are the ingenious ones, the guys in space are the brave/foolhardy ones. I'd rather stay on the ground myself.
I'd go up there in a space rocket :)
