"Lovely things under threat from terrible things, say scientists"

From the Independent:

There will be a dramatic decline in lovely and nice things this century if the world continues to procrastinate over measures to prevent terrible things, a study has found.

Current terribleness levels are tracking on the highest trajectory envisaged by terribleness scientists. That means if nothing is done to reduce terrible things significantly over the coming decades, over half of common nice things and one-third of lovely things could see a serious decline, the study concluded.

Scientists came to the assessment by estimating the current and future geographical ranges of nearly 50,000 lovely and nice things to see how rising terribleness levels are likely to affect their territorial limits as defined by the sort of loveliness they are adapted to live in.
Lovely things are the groups that are likely to suffer the most from an increase in terribleness because of their relative vulnerability to rising terribleness and inability to move rapidly from terrible to lovely areas, the study found.
