Mark Wadsworth said...: BQ, yes. I think is programme was designed to 'stimulate debate' rather than be seriouso i.e. he based the whole thing on two presumably true facts which are not necessarily correlated:

1. 'The USA used to do really well and is mainly Protestant'

2. 'PR China seems to be doing well and has a small but increasing number of Protestants'

and then based the rest of the programme on this. I was a bit disappointed, really. What about Japan? They used to do really well and is allegedly a very atheist country.

I doubt whether Freud is responsible for any of this. Or that other guy he blamed.; 11 April 2011 at 20:24
