I note that all three MPs who signed Bob Spink's Early Day Motion 1407, which called for the personal allowance for income tax to be increased to £10,000 lost their seats at the subsequent election.
Bob Spink did well with 27% of the vote and Dai Davies didn't do so badly with 19.9% of the vote. Iris Robinson wasn't allowed to stand at the last election, but then again, voter turnout among 19-year olds is very low anyway.
