It's no accident that it became big news at the time that the Berlin wall fell down.
All those arguments about how much better communism were... education, productivity and so on were shattered. Capitalism won. So, the solution was to say that productivity was no longer a good thing, but a bad thing.
I wonder how many people in "Compass Oxford" work in jobs that depend on the fact that we can afford big government. There weren't many diversity co-ordinators in the middle ages.
