I am not at all anti blood sports, but there is something about bull fighting that I found totally distasteful. It might the jeering crowd. It might be the macho attitde - completely udeserved - of the bullfighters. Whatever I am on the side of the bull.
The heartbreaking thing is that the bull is probably thinking "Wahey! Result! I can't wait to tell the others back at the stable about this!"
You wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of the bull, though... ;)
JuliaM, well no, obviously. But I wouldn't go out of my way to antagonise it either.
Sort of a HSBC advert...
Captioned.
Good Fight
Bad Fight.
With the same picture.
I'm all for hunting/shooting/fishing, but have to say I don't like bull fighting. There is bravery in it, but you know whats going to happen in the end everytime. If the the bull were to 'win' and kill the matador, would they let him live? I doubt it. Its just goading an caged animal for sport. Not a very edifying pursuit.
isn't that Robert Peston, getting his come-uppance ???
Not that well for the bull - he has 4 knives in his back.
When you choke to death on a steak in a restaurant, would you like the waiter to say, "well, that's cow's certainly getting his own back." Similar, is it not?
