Dave loses it completely

He appears to have gone stark staring mad with more plans for a 'National Citizen's Service'.

Isn't this a bit like his Big Idea of early 2006 for a Youth Community Action Programme?

Which Charlie Kennedy said was something that the Lib Dems' Youth Taskforce were considering as well.

And the Goblin King was going to make compulsory for immigrants anyway.

So they are all at it, aren't they? Planning news ways to waste our time and money.

Just found your blog. Looks good! I will be visiting daily.

Yes, Dave is a bigger nanny than Blair ever was. Why the Conservative Party is not throwing him out is beyond me; they are going to be decimated.

I agree with something along these lines though. I was in the cadets and it was good for me.

We need to inject more responsibility and self-respect to our country's youth.

There are many other waste of money issues to get the savings in.

Jorgen, thanks.

CU, sure, that was voluntary. DC's scheme is supposed to be voluntary.
I can remember being 16. Faced with a choice of flipping burgers and pocketing £100 a week or joining in some taxpayer-financed crap for no pay, I know what I'd choose.

mark, I assume you mean that DC's scheme is mandatory! :)

Nope. In the BBC article and also on TV yesterday evening he made it perfectly clear that it will be voluntary.
