My 'phone rang just now.
"Hi, Mark here" say I.
"Oh, I thought you'd be at lunch" says Her Indoors.
"Well, why did you ring me then?" ask I.

Anonymous said...: My mother called me once when I was just about sleeping after a night-shift.

"Oh did I wake you up?"

"Well, yes, actually, but what is it?"

"It's OK, you get your sleep, I'll call back later"
