The Taxpayers Alliance have commissioned a fine piece of research in to 'green taxes', which got a front page spread in today's Metro.
What pisses me off is that The Metro used pictures of The Aral Sea to illustrate the impact of "the actions of man" (although interestingly enough, they use pictures of Lake Chad in the on-line version).
Fully agreed, that the shrinking of The Aral Sea is down to the actions of man, but this has f*** all to do with 'climate change'. What caused this, as any fule kno, was the Soviets blocking off its tributaries in the 1960s to irrigate thousands of square miles of surrounding fields.
