The Mrs dutifully bought advent calendars for me and herself (the nice 'Celebrations' ones).
Every morning I want to be a rebel and open any old random window, but then I always chicken out and look for the correct one for the day. To do otherwise would just feel wrong, and not in a good way.
How daft is that?

Everyone has a personal Christmas tradition!
JM, do you dare open yours in random order?
A natural contrarian - it could be made into a definitive test for subversives.
I don't think I've bothered with one for the last couple of years. Was quite tempted by the cheese one this year though!
W: Ok kids gather around. Look this Advent calender. Consider if I were to open a window at random right now. Ok. Now consider if I were to open a window at random tomorrow too. What would the probabilty of that window being the Chritmas Day window? Ok take out your exercise books. You all have three minutes;express your answers as a percentage.
Kids: But Dad!
Enter stage right, a wet, hard pressed women carrying freezing Waitrose bags in each hand.
MrsW: Kids put your notebooks down. What are the odds that if Daddy actually does that experiment at any point this Christmas, he will find his suitcase by the frontdoor in the morning?
All the kids put their hands up.
Just guessing :)
MW, my daughter would like to know how many windows the calendar has to start with.
LOL :)
MW, I read your comment to my daughter and she thought it was funny, but she actually likes maths and so wanted to know whether the calendar in your example has 24 or 25 windows.
I see. But only because she thought my joke was funny.
W the younger. I should have said 'Christmas Eve'. So it's 24 windows. And you are tested, in the joke, by Dad, from last night :)
Sadly, as all our children are now independent and have their own families, no Advent Calendar appeared in the Lola household this year, for the first time.
