From the BBC:
Local radio presenter Alan Partridge has been banned from driving after he was clocked doing 54mph in a 30mph zone.
The 50-year-old radio host, famous for his quirky phone-in shows, pleaded guilty to driving at almost double the speed limit on the A259 at Black Rock, Brighton, on 14 October last year.
Partridge, who gave his address as The Travel Tavern, Linton, was caught speeding in a Kia Optima, Sussex Police said. He was disqualified from driving for 28 days and fined £670 at Worthing Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
A further charge of obstructing the course of justice was dropped after Mr Partridge agreed to withdraw his initial statement that his personal assistant Lynn Benfield was in the driving seat at the time of the offence.

In a statement, Partridge said "I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist the zero percent finance deals on new Kia Optimas at Woods Motors, Town Street, Norwich."
RT, touché.
I just looked up touche and it says "an acknowledgement of a hit by an opponent".
I've always found it interesting that you see my comments as rivalry by an opponent rather than, as in this case, just somebody joining in the fun.
I suppose competitive people view everything as a contest, but I do not.
RT, you are quite right. Maybe :-) or "spot on" or "LOLZ" would have been more appropriate.
