Ah, the people who ignore agglomeration benefits, which always more than cancel out any downward pressure on prices from increased supply.

It's a sponsored post, they didn't write it.

It is written and paid for by Shelter I think.

Indeed. I should probably have used a better headline.

The Shelter Housing policy focuses on high land prices and supports "Dutch and German-style" development corporations. If these work like the old British ones: corporation buys agricultural land;grants itself planning permission to build houses;makes money on planning uplift; buys more agricultural land; then its a step in the right direction, for once.

How popular do you think this would be with the voters if houses were going down in value?

@B Would probably be less unpopular than LVT.All solutions are from henceforth going to be unpopular because Homeownerism has rendered democracy inoperable, with the homeowning majority become enemies of the State, any state.Something either more or less undemocratic has to be done : see Danny "Beaker " Alexander before Christmas re. the stalled Northstowe development "Danny Alexander tells housebuilding sector 'If you don't build them,we will'".Guardian
Yep Con-lib Coalition will build them. This may send the present generation of right-wing autists scurrying into their wardrobes to escape all the complexity and deviation from their simple mantra "Markets rule-we must obey"but I was at university when the same kinds of propeller heads all subscribed to Communism because it was "scientific".I admit then was probably worse.

Sorry, I should have been more specific in my post. By "this" I meant Guido's "positive message", not the development corporations. However, I would agree, there are very few things less attractive to the voting public than LVT. The HO propagandists have done their work too well.
