That's neat that's neat that's neat that's neat...

From the BBC:

India's tiger population has grown rapidly with 2,226 tigers recorded in 2014, up from 1,706 in 2011...

There were a spate of tiger attacks in India last year, with at least 20 people killed.

Tigers are beautiful animals and so on, but all these complacent Westerners who constantly bang on about protecting tigers in some faraway country are just latter day imperialists if you ask me.

If I were Indian, I'd have them all shot and then start campaigning for wild boars and wolves to be reintroduced in all countries in Europe, especially in the UK, which has been most successful in wiping them out.

So if you live in the UK and oppose the badger cull, that's fine, but don't start telling people in other countries what to do.

Not a bad idea to keep some in reserves, kill most and charge westerners who care a premium to see them (and ensure their survival each year)

I can just see it ,the odd add, only so mucch raised this year....we will have to cull : and watch the money roll in

Mark, posting something with an embedded earworm is almost as bad as posting something with an embedded virus.

I would love to see wolves reintroduced to the UK.
Ironically the only person I know who was anti the idea was the child of Indian immigrants who was anti India wiping out the Tiger.

BTW we already have some wild boars here and wolves are back almost everywhere in Europe.

Not sure with any of Mark's schemes to wipe out animals; there seems to be some kind of inbuilt tendency. He was equally ferocious about central Australian camels which weren't attacking anybody but just standing there (in large numbers).
They were a species introduced for economic reasons, so the Aussies should have put up with the disruption of their clever money making schemes going wrong.
(Stand by for rebuke about changing the subject. But it is the same subject:the Indians need to preserve tigers for tourism and their international image and should put up with, and guard against, the consequences).
I would be more concerned for the wild boar and wolves in any re-introduction scheme influenced by the UK's ferocious landowners: they would be routinely massacred if they got anywhere near moorland leased for deer stalking and grouse shooting.

Why don't the Indians just each put a tiger in their tank?

ha ha. A tiger in the tank. Good one. The BNP are in favour of preserving the Indian Tigers, they claim it's a natural way of reducing the Indian population. I'll get my coat...

Just buy the bits with Tigers in off the Indians.

Everyone happy.

And badgers don't really compare with tigers. There's a set just down the road from me somewhere. I was walking home from the pub one night, and one walked onto the track - made me jump, but it's not like it was going to attack me.

DBCR, an Aussie told me that the camel was the only species introduced to Australia that wasn't ecologically harmful. Anyway, don't they make money selling them to the Arabs?
