Short List

I watched the last episode of Maps: Plunder, Power and Possession yesterday, and another short list sprang to mind:

Continents whose names don't start and end with the letter "A"

Or for an even shorter list:

Continents whose names don't start and end with the same letter.

Oi! I object! What about the incontinents...?

North America
South America
Europe

or

North America
South America

or

, if you use the 5-continent convention.

JH, is that a continent? If so, you are the winner.

L, do they start and end with the same letter.

B, ignoring this "north" and "south" stuff, obviously.

MW. Frinton? Felixstowe?

"JH, is that a continent?"

Nah, it can't be. Haven't we just proved that, to be a continent, it must begin and end with the same letter? (Actually, it's the world's largest island.)

B, actually, let me pick up on that 5-contintent nonsense.

AsiA
AntarcticA
AmericA
AustraliA
AfricA

That's five, plus

EuropE

Makes six.

Sorry, I meant the 6-continent convention. In the 5-continent convention you get

EurasiA
AntarcticA
AmericA
AustraliA
AfricA

so the answer to both your short lists would be "Eurasia"
