Well there's your answer right there, Dave...

From The Daily Mail:

Violent foreign extremists should be put on the first plane home, a furious Tory MP demanded today. Former army officer Bob Stewart said the killers in the Woolwich attack had succeeded in securing publicity for their 'perverted ideas' and urged tough action to deal with 'anyone that supports them....

[David Cameron] said he could not comment on the detailed police investigation but vowed: 'This country will be absolutely resolute in its stand against extremism and terror. We will never give in to terror or terrorism in any of its forms. This view is shared by every community.

Mr Cameron revealed that the two suspected killers were known to the security services and promised that the authorities will investigate into whether the attack could have been prevented.

Of course they "could have been prevented". Go and have a chat with Mr Bob Stewart.

All of which makes you wonder why Sweden allowed in so many "asylum seekers" in recent years. They knew how it ended in France and the UK, and surprise surprise, the same thing is now happening over there.

While I'm on the topic, cast your eye down the list of areas in the UK with the highest per capita welfare spending halfway down this article. What do those areas famously have in common (apart from having lots of unemployed people, obviously, they've got to live somewhere and I've no particular grudge against people who are unemployed)?

Merseyside, Dagenham, Blackburn, Luton, Newham.... Former car-makers? Irish immigrants? Lib-Dem councils? I give up.

G, start here, for example.

I think Sefton is a bit of an outlier here.

You have to go straight to the source to "analyse what's going on" MW. If you're implying anything about the Husby riots with the observation of groups shouting "Allahu Akbar" while burning stuff, you will be corrected by Swedish newspaper Expressen:
Rumors fly as paving stones against the windows. The cocksure opinions flares up as burning cars.
But the uncomfortable truth is that the situation is uncertain, and no one knows what is happening and why.
The one thing we absolutely know is that the riots have happened before and will happen again.
...
On Kungsgatan, there were youth riots in 1956, as well as on Södermalm in 1948, when thousands of youths threw cobblestones in fierce battles with mounted police armed with sabers. In Berzelii park in central Stockholm was the youth riots of 1951 with 3,000 people involved. The fight was against special conscripted military police and officers from five Swedish cities. No one put the blame on immigrants.
Author Per-Anders Fogelström was interviewed in Expressen in 1951 and said that this was not something new and that contributing factors were the police's unpopularity and the propensity to resort to violence. He gave examples of riots in Sweden since the mid-1800s.

So there.
Firefighters were also attacked, they are especially hated with regards to thir propensity to resort to violence apparently.

one problem is that stats on British-Irish seem to be hard to access

I've just had a look at some of the pictures of the "beheading incident" and there is a truly bizarre lack of blood. We have a gallon of blood in us, and if beheaded, most of that comes out, yet the pictures show the body lying in the street with no blood round it at all.

Classic stuff. Apparently there were no immigrants involved in the fabled Bread Riots of 1564 either, so that proves it. Riots are nothing to do with immigrants.

G, that is true, but Irishness is not something that is officially recorded that much, the boundaries are too blurred. Let's not get onto personal prejudices as it is too easy to extrapolate from personal experience.

I've only had dealings with about a dozen Irish people in my life and by a sheer coincidence, all but one of them were thieving cheating lying duplicitous and dishonest gits. But I'm sure that twelve is not a representative sample or anything and the other ten million are all perfectly loveable..

B, yes, but they pulled his corpse into the middle of the road after they finished stabbing him to death.

G has a point: If the murderers had been Irish, would you be saying that this was the result of letting too many Irish settle in the country? What about if they had been Scousers?
Anyway, I know from having a friend witness the IRA mortar attack on Downing Street, that the "official" account of what happened at this sort of incident can be greatly at variance with what actually happened.

B: ": If the murderers had been Irish, would you be saying that this was the result of letting too many Irish settle in the country?"

Nope. Ireland used to be part of the UK and England is partly to blame for "The Troubles". Irish terrorism is fomented in Ireland, not in the UK. And the IRA never wanted to overthrow the UK government and make England a vassal state of Ireland and impose its own rules on us (which are scarcely different to ours). They just want Northern Ireland back, which is not a totally unreasonable demand.

"What about if they had been Scousers?"

Well what about it? See my previous answer.
