Sorry Susan, it's probably my fault but

I confess you have left me confused.

Do we still need school dinners?
"It wouldn't be such a bad thing if parents had to provide midday food for their children – the good old packed lunch".
"But of course anything to do with children and school meals is emotive and makes for a good attention-grabbing headline. It did however, set me thinking about school meals and free school meals and to wonder – with an open mind initially - whether or not we still need them".

School children need to eat a proper breakfast, but should Kellogg's really be paying for it?
"Tens of thousands of children are now arriving at school without a proper breakfast. So let's tackle the cause of this problem, not just the symptom".
"But so many children are now arriving in school without having had breakfast that tens of thousands, especially in deprived areas, are being given free breakfasts on arrival".

Packed lunches are a terrible idea. Free school dinners for all, is my motto, for the same reason as I believe in school uniform. Children hate it but it's shared hardship so good for the team spirit.

SB, right, this is your last warning. Any more unfounded insults and I'm just going to delete your comments.
