"Criminal inanity"

TODAY The Sun reveals the shocking figure that nearly one in five of all rape or murder suspects is a professional footballer.

The sheer scale of crimes committed by footballers is astonishing. Confront politicians with an embarrassing statistic and they try to get off the hook by talking about "context". So here's some context for that crime figure.

A report published today shows that, because of a loophole in the immigration rules, more than 20,000 footballers and their families from outside the EU come to live here every year. It doesn't take a genius to work out that the two figures might be connected.

The more footballers who live here, the more likely it is that crimes will be committed by footballers. The Government is trying to get a grip on immigration. The numbers overall are down. But crime figures like this show just how vital it is that loopholes are closed and sanity is restored to immigration.

I wish figures like this (and for how much tax immigrants pay)
were adjusted for age.
If immigration from country x had stopped 60 years ago.
All immigrants from x would now
a) be on benefits - of course they are pensioners
b) law abiding - of course they are pensioners

Immigration is great for rent seekers.

Lowers wages.
Raises rent.

SB, yes, if the Powers That Be were organised enough just to let the brightest and best in, that would be true - they would improve the economy (and as per usual most of the benefit would go to the vested interests).

So the working man would not necessarily be worse off - he would have a smaller share of a larger pie.

The way that they actually do it is to let in "slightly too many of the wrong sort" such that the working man gets a smaller share AND the pie is slightly smaller.

Actually immigration is subsidised (NDS, benefits). So the lower paid are worse off in 4 ways.
1) lower wages.
2) higher rents
3) worse services.
4) higher taxes.

Immigration needs to be auctioned and restricted to a revenue maximising figure, AND insane ideas like the NHS need to be junked.

SB: "Actually immigration is subsidised"

Well, you've just saved me the bother of having to debate this issue by telling an outright lie. It is impossible for EVERYBODY to be subsidised, somebody has to be paying in. And the chances are that people from the age 20 to the age 40 or 50 are doing all the paying.
