"Winston House Prepatory School"

I emailed them about this today, let's see how long it takes them to corect it:

And there I was thinking "out of school care" was the mistake, and it was about to be converted into a hospital in some kind of weird PFI deal.

Seriously though, what's wrong with "pastoral care"?

Nothing - Prepatory is a bit unusual though - probably going to scare away a lot of parents who don't necessarily want their offspring prepped in that way ...

So they've spelt preparatory wrong once?

Are they funded by charity. How much are their property assets worth? Get a better picture.

RA, this particular school has a particularly good deal on looking after your kids for an hour before school proper starts and for another two hours after school proper finishes, i.e. it's great for working parents. So "out of school care" is quite apposite, "pastoral care" has a different meaning in the context of schools.

BobE, DBC, if there are typos on the website of a haulage company or a hi-fi retailer, well so what?
It doesn't matter. But there are certain people (printers, sign writers, schools etc) who bloody well ought to be able to spell properly.

RS, you are way off piste and asking irrelevant questions. You can look up their Business Rates bill yourself if you wish.

It is a private school which like all private schools receives modest subsidies from the taxpayer, but these are a fraction of the 100% subsidy received by state schools.

@MW
I just thought it odd that you considered poor spelling was the only exceptionable point on this advert.But most of my working-life was in public-sector education so I am not a neutral judge (though I am in one way: I think most schools ,public and private, should be closed down for teaching so much cack: maths ,science particularly.)And
spelling needs peple frendly reform IMO.
