The weatherman on Channel 4 News has been busy with his thesaurus. In tonight's weather forecast, he treated us to the following synonyms/euphemisms for "cold" within two or three minutes:
Quite cold
Nagging and chilly wind
Quite chilly
A touch of frost
Temperatures will dip down to freezing and locally just below
Cold start to the day
Accompanied by a brisk wind
Still chilly
Quite cold
Chilly when you factor in that wind
Temperatures still below average for this time of year
When you factor in that brisk north-easterly wind it's going to feel even colder
