"Rabid bobcat attacks Massachusetts man"

From The Daily Mail:

A man in Massachusetts says all he heard was a hiss before a bobcat pounced on him in his own garage, sinking its teeth into his face and its claws in his back... It then ran out of the garage and bit Mundell's 15-year-old nephew on the arms and back. Mundell and his wife pinned the cat to the ground and shot it dead.

All very unpleasant. At least cows don't have rabies!

UPDATE: Actually they do.

Actually, cows DO have rabies. It can affect any warm-blooded mammal, but in ungulates, it tends to take a different pathology, sometimes termed 'dumb' rabies (as opposed to the 'furious' type).

You can tell the DM have rehashed this story from another newspaper - it doesn't say what the guy's house is worth.

It all just goes to show the importance of the right to bear arms. This could have had a very different ending if cats were the only ones with pistols.

B, well spotted.

AC, where does it say that the polecat was carrying a gun?
