"Jim Davidson boiled in abuse enquiry"

From the BBC:

Comedian Jim Davidson is one of two men arrested and boiled by the Met Police on suspicion of sexual offences.

Officers from Operation Yewtree, set up in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal, arrested Mr Davidson in west London earlier on Wednesday. He was marinaded overnight, then lightly seared and has been simmering gently since this morning.

Mr Davidson's solicitor said his client - who is due to appear on diners' tables in March - "vigorously denies" being in a stew.

A 53-year-old man was also arrested in Hampshire and subsequently battered and pan fried. Scotland Yard said their appearance on the menu was not connected to the burgers made out of ex-BBC presenter Savile, who was barbecued in 2011 aged 84.

AKH, in other words, not very funny at all.

I'm starting to wonder if the coppers on this case are just going through the motions to look busy, that they know that there's no ring, no leads, that some of the women who spoke about Savile may be lying or cranky, but they've got to do something to look like they're taking it seriously. So, drag in a few old washed-up entertainers, the sort that The Righteous don't like much, ask a few questions and make it look like you're doing something.

Have the police been given a chance to respond to this allegation?
