Click and highlight to see what she does in her day job

From The Sun

A RUSSIAN* woman is being hailed the world's hardest grandma after she fought a wolf with her bare hands.

Aishat Maksudova, a 56-year-old cow herder from Dagestan, pounced on the animal after it attacked one of her calves.

During a ferocious struggle, she punched the wolf repeatedly as it sank its teeth into the left side of her body. When the animal trapped her by biting down on her legs, she reached for an axe she'd been carrying with her and whacked it over the head until it was dead.

* That's a bit of an oversimplification. She is from Dagestan

She could be ethically Russian, but at 4.5% of the population, that's unlikely. More likely is that most people wouldn't have a clue what "Dagestani" meant, let alone "Lezgin" or "Kumyk". There is also no doubt a touch of arrogation, as nicely put by an dark-skinned athlete: "If you get gold, you're English, silver, you're British, bronze, you're West Indian and if you get caught cheating, you're black."

Mind you these babushkas are dynamite: as k any Russian.

That was supposed to be "ethnically". Oh, for an edit facility.

A seriously tough lady. I can't see why she didn't use the axe from the start though.

AKH, because she has a sense of fair play and wanted to give the wolf a sporting chance first?

D, they will do now.

VFTS, it'd take you a while to kill an elephant with an axe, you have to chop them down one leg at a time before you can finish it off. Unless you get a lucky throw into the right part of the skull.

Truly a worthy contender for the Dale Petersen "Harder Than A Coffin Nail" trophy: http://cdn-www.i-am-bored.com/media/grizbearsign.jpg
