Interesting Mark, any info on how to stop/ban a Ripper attack would be welcome, I'm not a techie when it comes to blogging.
Also a bit worrying as I have also posted on the Hollie Greig affair.
It's not just WfW, I can't get to zerohedge either.
On the subject of libellous comments, I got this from a non-comment-allowing blogger today:
"after reading some of the comments on the WT website, I am concerned about the libel laws. The WT seems to believe that, because the comments are not those of the newspaper, they are not responsible for the content. I am not sure this is true.
The Defamation Act refers to "publication" and it has always been my view that to maintain the website where these comments appear amounts to just that."
"As you may know, Cllr ________ recently won his case on this issue in the High Court. However, that decision did not give members carte blanche - all it decided was that, in Cllr Calver's case, the nature of the comments on his blog meant that his right to free speech outweighed the provisions of the Code, though nobody can be certain exactly where the boundary lies. "
Has WfW been given a legal opinion on this matter yet?
It's the EOLAWKI.
