Lagarde's IMF predecessor - Strauss-Kahn - was accused of a sex offence after he had called for the replacement of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency. I don't recall her speaking up for him.

IH, oh crikey of course, Mme L was the prime mover behind S-K being outed, stabbed in the back and thoroughly booted out from his cushy job to make way for her. Absolutely textbook French politics there from the little lady.
