Press release from the World Veterinary Association:
The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) will bring together veterinarians, vet nurses and industry professionals in Perth for two days to learn the latest on animal behaviour and welfare in all creatures great and small.
Speakers include Dr Kevin Sullivan who will cover managing cattle disease through behaviour modification and something we’ve all wanted to know more about – how to say hello to a cow!
Plan B is simply "don't".

It's surprising how often people do say "hello" to a cow. They hardly ever get a response.
Would 'Please, please, for the love of God, have mercy!' be more useful?
AKH, do they? Surely people are far more likely to talk to a horse, give it a pat or a sugar lump.
JM, apparently, if their ears are cold... they are in a bad mood.
