From The Daily Mail:
Dog walker describes terrifying attack by a kangaroo... Janet Karson, from Deanmill in southwestern Australia, required more than 20 stitches to her ears following the assault and was convinced at the time she would die.
She was strolling with her two dogs on Saturday and, when one ran ahead, the animal was confronted by the huge marsupial, who appeared by surprise...
Kangaroo attacks against humans are rare, but they do happen occasionally. In July, a 94-year-old Australian woman fought off an attacking red kangaroo with a broom before police subdued the animal with pepper spray.

You'd think a red kangaroo would use its feet rather than a broom.
Well Roos taste pretty good, so at least nothing should go to waste and of course plenty of Aussies have guns too, which might help.
A big bugger, your Western Red - or so I understand, since I've never been to WA.
The first time we ordered Kangaroo in a restaurant, it followed an intense discussion with the waiter, wherein two of us opted for Kangaroo steak, medium rare (or something like that) and the the third for Poulet a l'Estragon. The waiter walked into the kitchen and shouted "Two roos and a chook".
By surprise?
Was it hiding behind a truck?
The reds are big buggers. There are some in our local wildlife park and they are as tall as the emus.
