It strikes me that complaints about retailers etc putting up their Xmas decorations earlier each year seem to come earlier each year. Here's one I spotted in The Evening Standard two days ago.
So that's our next Fun Online Poll: "Have you seen any Xmas decorations in your area yet?"
Vote here or use the widget in the sidebar. I did see a Xmas wreath with holly and red candles in the pub' yesterday, so I voted yes.

I normally start a new Fun Online Poll on Monday, but last week's had to be closed because Liam Fox actually [was] resigned, in case you're wondering.
Sounds as if he's been reassured

BQ industries added Christmas stock to buy online at he start of October. this is about a month earlier than usual. This is to retail, not wholesale.
A small amount has sold. Items such as led snowmen or sledges you would expect, as they need to be in your home before the snow comes.
but very surprisingly a small amount of really basic, get from anywhere, items have sold.
Gift tags 99p-
Roll of wrapping paper - 99p
Box of card -1.99p
The quality lines haven't sold apiece yet.
I wonder if its the housebound, the super organised or the very lazy who shop like this.
And Co-op has already had to reduce to clear its first batch of mince pies as they are reaching their 4 week sell-by date.
BQ, I suppose the bulk order to kit out the Houses of P will come in handy?
The only good thing about Christmas is the mince pies, so the earlier the better, as far as I am concerned.
Bah humbug
