From The Evening Standard:
This swan had a narrow escape after being attacked by two rutting stags in Bushy Park. It was caught up in the confrontation between competing males during the breeding season, which has seen several attacks on people in the south-west London park.
For once, humans were not on the receiving end.
Sounds as if he's been reassured

You have to watch that rutting - they have no concept of keeping it private.
The stags were just practising their new trick - 'make it look like an accident'.
Them deer they craaaazy
Although not sure 'playing dead' is at all effective.
I also submit 'Deer Punching' as an exhibition event for the 2016 Olympics
JH, to be fair to the deer, showing off is usually done in public.
LI, swans have been known to attack people so it can't expect too much sympathy from me.
PC, nice one. How to you find these stories? We can have "Punching the deer" as an event straight after "Punching the tree".
@Mark Yuo know that bit towards the end of A Beautiful Mind,That
Only I'm not paranoid, history will prove me right. Ed Harris told me so
