(I mentioned that William Simon U'Ren was a hero of mine, and he wrote back to say that he tried to contact him by phone -- unsuccessfully, alas, because by that time U'Ren was quite elderly and not in the best of health -- when he was attending college in Oregon in the late 40's.); 16 August 2011 at 16:22
