Spotted by Chuckles at the BBC:
Animal rights activists in Germany have brought in a bull to try to recapture a runaway cow facing a hunter's bullet. Yvonne has been roaming free in the Bavarian forest since escaping from a farm near the town of Muhldorf in May.
However, after she bolted in front of a police car, officials say she poses a danger to traffic and hunters have permission to shoot her. Yvonne's supporters hope the appeal of Ernst the breeding bull will let them get hold of her before the hunters do... Now they hope some sex appeal from Ernst may give the story a happy ending.

Let's hope she's not a lesbian cow!
BB, that appears unlikely. From the article:
"Previous attempts at luring Yvonne back to captivity include bringing in Waltraud - a cow with whom she was "best friends" - as well as her own calf."
The speech marks round "best friend" may be a clue. Either Waltraud was her best friend or she wasn't, and yes, cows appear to have best friends, within a larger herd they all have their little social circles. I once saw a programme on TV about it and am therefore supremely qualified to comment on such matters.
Don't see many of these nowadays Portsmouth News. Must be time to ban them, there could have been children involved.
So Yvonne's been happily wandering around since May - presumingly encountering a road or two in that time - but the moment she spooks a couple of coppers out for a drive it's suddenly open season?
Perhaps they're worried she might also have access to a BB Gun
