"Bhuddist monk facing five years in jail for smoking in Bhutan"

From The Metro:

The monk, who has not been identified, has been charged with consuming and smuggling contraband tobacco under a law that came into force this month after he was caught in possession of 72 packets of chewing tobacco...

So he wasn't smoking, was he? But I bet bansturbators worldwide are salivating at the thought of being able to imprison more and more people for such ThoughtCrimes.

The rest of the article is full of similar contradictions, see how many you can spot.

Most smokers I know do so with their mouths and not their Bhutans.

".. banned the sale of tobacco in 2005".
".. the sale and importation of cigarettes is restricted."
Um, slight conflict there.

".. has hit the formerly thriving black market for tobacco products, as it is now cheaper to pay taxes and obtain a receipt than to pay black market prices."
Bollocks. But it's banned. And whoever heard of a black market with higher prices than the legit market? (unless supplies are artificially restricted, and there's no hint of that)

Can't be bothered to fisk it properly.

Although Alex Pielak uses grammatical English, he doesn't seeem to think about the (il)logical content.

As the old saying goes, "Don't these people have subs?"

Does a Bhuddist monk actually mind if he's sent to jail?
