From The Guardian:
"Let's not forget that the bankers are the next-door neighbours of the politicians. Most people can see the picture: the bankers grease the politicians' palms, the politicians bail out the bankers with public funds, the bankers pay themselves fat bonuses and loan the money back to the public with interest.
It's essentially a crime spree that benefits a social élite at the expense of many millions of victims.*"
* To which we could retort: "Yeah, but we put up with it because it's 'good' for house prices."

I do wish the bahastards would stick to Norn Iron instead of trying to play Robin effing Hood in places that neither want nor need their "assistance".
Delete "bankers" insert "trade unions".
FT, I abhor terrorism and violence, but this time they have a point (entirely unrelated to NI, as you say).
Ed, union-bashing is so-o-o old hat. That's what we did when Labour were in charge. Under the Tories we bash subsidies to 'private' businesses.
Years ago I asked a NI freind of mine what all the terrorists would do once the terror stopped in NI. "Oh, they will probably go back to being bank robbers" was his reply.
If I worked down Canary Wharf, I'd be more scared of this lot than the FSA or whatever it's called now.
