That's one way of doing it...

From the BBC:

A man sat in his car for 30 hours to prevent it being towed away after it was clamped.

Haroon Zafaryab began the protest in Wembley on Wednesday when he returned from Ramadan prayers to find his car clamped and was asked to pay £365. He said that, as he sat in the vehicle, all four wheels were clamped and about 40 tickets were stuck to its window, amounting to £3,565 in fines...

On Thursday evening, Mr Zafaryab's car was finally released after he paid £100. He said he planned to challenge the fine in court.

Mr Zafaryab, you rock! And best of luck with your appeal.

Even if he gets judgement they'll never pay up.

Clamping is so lucrative the sort of people who used to rob Post Offices and import ecstasy have moved into it.

Even if they do abolish it I'm not sure they'll stop now that the cat is out of the bag.

As Mr P Sr said "Did he have a chemical toilet with him?"

Firstly, he shouldn't have parked on private land. Secondly, why did they crumble and release him? Weaklings!

@ H

Did you read the linked article?

The sign which related to parking without permit must detail the costs of doing so, what the clampers did was not within the detail on the sign and therefore illegal. The guy paid the £100 which was detailed on the sign, although quite why he has decided to then go to court and challenge this is beyond me.

@Scott Wright
I did not read the linked article. I hang my head in shame for introducing factual error into this temple of truth. Still, he could have parked somewhere else. Or indeed, would he not have earned more merit in the eyes of the All-Compassionate if he had walked to prayers?
