This one DEFINITELY counts

From The Metro:

A teenage boy was shot dead in South Africa in a suspected case of 'vuvuzela rage'. Asanda Cele, 14, was allegedly killed by a neighbour irritated by the sound of his horn after the World Cup hosts beat France in their World Cup first-round match, police have now revealed.

The Manchester United fan [?] was shot twice in the head and once in the arm, and died of his injuries at a hospital in Durban. A neighbour has now been arrested and charged with murder, though released on bail until next month...

And more violence has been pencilled in for the next week or two.

I'm just surprised it hasn't happened before.

(There was this, of course, but it doesn't count.)

Vuvuzela rage should be treated as self defence and all charges dropped.

Absolutely NF, terms like "Justifiable Homicide' or the famous Texan observation - 'He needed killin' spring to mind.

McH, good spot, but it was neither in SA nor was there an actual violent death involved. :-(

NF, Ch, that's a bit harsh. Would you advocate shooting the owners of noisy dogs?

What about neutering instead?

Mark Wadsworth said...

JM, the dogs or the owners? or both?

Neuter them with a vuvuzela? I'll sell tickets.
There were a couple of World Cup related motoring deaths a couple of days ago, which are I'd say also count. As in occurring to or from a WC game.
