From the BBC:
A gang of travellers who stole hundreds of caravans worth more than £700,000 have been jailed. The four men, who were based in Wiltshire, are thought to be responsible for half the country's caravan thefts between 2004 and 2007... The insurance industry reported a 47% drop in claims following their arrest.
As an aside, does anybody believe that (a) the police recovered many of these caravans and returned them in good condition to their rightful owners, as opposed to the owners relying on having insurance, or that (b) any caravan owner was ever in danger of losing his title to the plot of land on which his caravan was stationed (whether that was a freehold or a leasehold interest)?
A Clear Case Of Nominative Determinism Here....
