Natural beauties gather for Miss Earth pageant
[caption] Women from around the world compete in eco-friendly beauty contest
This year's contest has attracted 90 entrants – or 'environmental diplomats', as they are properly known – who compete in the usual pageant disciplines of talent, evening gown and swimsuit competitions, as well as the final interview stage.
Of course, the contestants are also expected to be aware of environmental issues and keen supporters of preservation campaigns. The winning beauty gets to serve as a spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organisations.

I was going to comment, but I've just discovered I don't have the words to describe how I feel about such CRAP!
I recently came to the conclusion that rather than consider the scientific arguments for and against AGW, I'm persuaded against it by all the vested interests, financial beneficiaries of it, and all the advocates of this new religion.
Do they hug trees?
IM, I started think that way a year or two ago, the green industry is like the pensions industry or asbestos removal industry. They only exist because of irrational fears and state subsidies/regulations.
JH, if you can get your hands on two tree costumes, I suggest we go and find out.
This fascinating post prompted me to look up the contest's own website. The site contains a page for each contestant, including Miss Northern Ireland, who says, "I would promote the local people of Ireland to tour around our own country more rather than wasting so much air fuels as they probably haven’t seen even half of what our own country has to offer." ROFL.
Whatever happened to loving the children and helping world peace ?
Apt colour scheme, Green covering over the Red basics.
