She had been fined twice before and faced paying up to £1,000. Solicitor Oisin Toner said the fine was overturned because she was on her own in the car on a personal errand. He said it would have been different if she had not owned the car...
Ms Wright had stopped at traffic lights in Armagh when she was spotted by a tobacco control officer...

Is this genuine? But in any event why am I not surprised? GB cant afford to pay for NHS and Education but yet can find money to employ jobsworths to carry out bizarre jobs.
Well, Mike, given she "faced paying up to £1,000", I'd say these little shits are "self financing", so not a drain on the public purse, just an embarrassing stain on the underpants of life.
It is illegal to smoke in ANY vehicle throughout the Channel Isles.

Incidentaly, twice this week I have seen what appeared to be Police Cars ( ie Blue/Yellow/White shiney paint jobs ) that turned out to be Security company "Dog Units " driving around on the public highway. What's that all about ?
