From The Metro:
"Miss Indonesia sparks anger after snubbing veil"
Qori Sandioriva, 18, beat 37 hopefuls to the crown after wowing judges – but religious leaders in the provice of Aceh were less impressed. They have expressed their outrage by claiming she has brought shame to the region...
If they want the contestants to wear veils, why not go the whole hog* and only allow blind judges? And broadcast it on the radio rather than television? And just to go on the safe side, make the contestants stay at home and have a male relative turn up instead?
* Pun intended.
What have we wrought in the UK?

As Aceh is run by sharia law how long before something is done to restore the region's honour?
The Indonesians have a point here. Why should "Miss World" only be judged on appearance? Surely ugly women with no figure should be given a chance too, if they do a lot of good work for charity, want to help people worse off than themselves, etc etc. Bring on the burkahs!
I ran a burqua competition not so long ago. Maybe they can do it that way.
CFF, Banned, no doubt something nasty will happen.
Bayard, we already have that in The West, y'know.
JH, who won that one?
