An article in the FT made a promising start:
An incoming Conservative government "will not sign" contracts for the second wave of Labour's flagship programme to provide the unemployed with a modernised welfare-to-work service, says the shadow work and pensions secretary... But Theresa May said yesterday that an incoming Tory administration would want to replace the flexible new deal with the Conservatives' so-called work programme...
Fair enough, as expected, the Tories are going to replace all Labour's quangos, fakecharities etc with their own quango's, fakecharities etc; sack all the Labour appointees and channel all that lovely taxpayers' money to a load of new, and equally ineffectual, Tory appointees.
Ho hum, moving on, this is the bit that makes me wonder whether I'm mad or everybody else is:
While Ms May talks of refusing to sign the deals, she told the annual conference of the Employment Related Services Association , the trade body for welfare-to-work providers...
Dude, WTF? They've already got their own lobby group? The contracts haven't even been finalised and the lucky (they hope) recipients have already set up a lobby group?

Their own Union, it sounds like.
Come on MW, why the 'shock horror'? And the difference between Conservative and Labour, where centralised control is concerned, is?????
Theresa May be able to see it, but f'd if I can!
Tory shadow ministers are wining and dining with the quangocrats and mandarins now, and probably will be up until the election.
I know that Ken Clark is breaking bread with about half a dozen quangos and professional bodies this week.
JH, no, this is the trade body/employers' organisation. The public sector unions will now have to form their own separate branch for people who work for them.
WFW, S_L, yes we know that the new boss will be as bad/worse than the old boss, that wasn't what surprised me.
I can't say much about it. but it sounds like that its their on union.
Hi, i am new here and found this blog very informative. I would like to visit here frequently. I you will allow.
Perhaps they were all boy scouts.
The largest is Action4Employment, a fake private company. They are service providers just like the fake "training providers" who have wasted my time and the Dept. Of Educations money 'upskilling' me. If my own experience is anything to go by they screw as much as possible from the Government, hire piss-poor staff and provide as little training as possible but with lots of paperwork to make them look good. And I haven't even got my CERTIFICATE yet !
Perhaps they were all boy scouts.
Banned, exactly. We all know about A4E and how useless they are (or we should do), but that company is firmly in Labour hands, the Tories now want their own snouts in the trough.
"But Theresa May said"
Enough said!
