Terrible news for arctic seals!

... it seems that the bloody polar bears aren't dying out after all*:

"There are 19 populations of polar bears on the planet. At present we know that eight are decreasing, three are stable, seven we are not sure about, and the only one we know for sure that is growing is in Canada. But in my opinion the bear numbers in Svalbard are increasing."

* Which we all knew a year ago.

How do you equate bear numbers not going down with global cooling in your labels? :)

But saying so is 'extremely unhelpful' didn't you know

JH, I don't.

PC, nice link. They won't let facts get in the way of The Truth, will they? A bit like that sea-level expert who said there's nothing to suggest that sea levels are rising, he's not too welcome in those circles either.

Ah yes the Maldives man, Nils-Axel Morner, God they hate him.
Apart from Polar Bears, the Maldives are the Global Warming Poster Child and are as such sacrosanct.

I seem to recall that Lomborg spiked the polar bear issue by pointing out that if you wanted to save polar bears, you'd do better to spend more money on rangers to protect them from poaching than Temples to Gaia.
