The last line of that article The former Number 10 adviser is hoping to resume his career in the Civil Service is so typical of this morally corrupt administration. Surely he should be prevented from re-joining the organisation he brought into disrepute? I certainly wouldn't re-employ him.

I don't believe a word of what McBride writes. My personal opinion is that Brown knew full well just what a weasel McBride was, and that's why he employed him. And Brown's silence is more likely to have been caused by (a) being found out and (b) thinking about how to handle the political fallout and (c) could this be turned to an attack on the Tories.

Or am I just being judgmental and paranoid?

CFF, indeed.

Lola, you're neither - McB and GB are both devious liars, and this latest spin has clearly been orchestrated between the two of them.

Mark, and no coincidence so close to the Norwich North by-election

No doubt this is intended as McBrides mea culpa prior to his re-engagement; good, the press should have a field day with him, as would we.
