I've no idea whether it's constitutional for Delhi's High Court to simply overturn an existing statute; whether the law was actually enforced in practice; how bad homophobia (or lesbophobia, or all the other 'phobias) actually is in India; how bad the inevitable backlash will be; or how many decades it will take until they are accepted as equals, but hey, they've got to start somewhere...

I'm glad about this because my Indian lesbian friend Minjeeta will no longer be at risk of arrest.
On BBC news just now, an Indian Catholic priest warned that legalising homosexuality will lead to an increase in paedophilia. What a fucktard.
"The buggers are legal now, what more are they after?" - Tom Robinson
"Our stand has always been very clear. The church has no serious objection to decriminalising homosexuality between consenting adults, the church has never considered homosexuals as criminals." said Father Emanuel.
The head cleric of Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, criticised the ruling. "This is absolutely wrong. We will not accept any such law."
Spot the difference.
One less reason why they should want to come to the UK - it should be welcomed.
I thought the picture for the article was some kind of "Test Card sudoku" prank
Delhi high court want become delhi as a us and very simply says gay sex is legal.
@CharlieB - it shows that Catholicism is highly centralised and media-managed, whereas Islam isn't. Next?
