From the BBC:
A garden gnome giving the Nazi salute has landed a German artist in trouble with the authorities in Nuremberg.
Prosecutors are investigating whether the gnome, which went on show in one of the city's galleries, breaks the strict law banning Nazi symbols and gestures.
There's a Godwin Prize for the first person to make a spurious comparison with Germany between 1933 - 45.

The gnome was actually just Bernie Ecclestone on holiday.
Say what you like about Bernie Ecclestone, at least he got the cars to start on time.
I hereby award today's Godwin Prize by default.
Seems the Germans cannot decide whether the Golden Gnome is celebrating Hitler or satirising him.
That's one of the problems when you try to censore history.
Banned, the gnome isn't satirising Hitler, it's satirising the humourless self-righteous brigade, most effectively, it would seem.
There;s got to be a Downfall spoof in this somewhere.
Does that get me a Spoof Godwin?
RM, good point, have a Consolation Godwin's Prize.
