Point one, on the subject of anything-must-be-better-than-FPTP, when MPs are selecting a new Speaker, they seem to go for STV/multiple round voting rather than FPTP. Funny that.
Point two, on the subject of gear changes, there are others who care, for example Abba Girl, and Titanic Captain (from Economic Voice) who has submitted this blindingly awful gear change (a full tone up at 2 mins 8 seconds) in a blindingly awful song:

Awful song ? or Awful version of the song?
All I can say is this.....I hate the fact that I like this song...we all know his past... 3mins 45 and a half seconds in

The King used to do it aswell with his live renditions of his classics
1 min 6 secs there is a two and a half tone rise.

This one has its first gear change at 1 min 44 secs then at 1 min 56 secs then at 2 min 8 secs all semi tone rises and maybe a change on the last brass stab.

Right I'm going mad now with this probably have another 50 by tomorrow just to annoy your readers with Wadsworth.
Master of the Gear Change is Jim Steinmann; all others are amateurs by comparison.
Enough said.

PC, both. Plus awful show.
EV, "Earth Song" makes him a multiple repeat serial re-offender. The King gets a free licence to do anything he wants.
MacH, sure, but "Bat Out Of Hell" was his finest hour and there was no gearchange involved there.
For those of us who are absolutely tone deaf none of this half a tone (eh? what?) up gear change stuff is a problem.
On a more intellectual level, good point about STV vs FPTP.
Back in the 80's, my notoriously conservative alma mater regularly elected nothing but lefties to the students' union.
The reason? Carefully planned manipulation of the STV under the tutelage of visiting Labour Party gurus.
