"Hovercraft still afloat 50 years on"

Says the BBC.

WTF? They don't float, never have done, never will: they hover. The clue is in the name.

Sorry, Mark - but I think they mean "afloat" as in viable rather than actually floating on water. It's the BBC trying to be clever.

Also they do float if they are not hovering.
